The Washington Monument is back open to the public after six months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After what was supposed to be only a temporary closure that began in March due to the virus, that closure stretched all the way to September.

New safety measures and cleaning regiments are in place in the Monument that the National Park Service believes will make it safe for visitors.

The Monument will be open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM every day of the week, including weekends. Tickets to reserve times at the Monument are available online.

New safety measures are in place for all visitors who plan to visit.
