Two Drive-In Movie Theaters Are Coming to DC This Summer

As the entertainment industry continues to face hurdles with the coronavirus, the drive-in movie theater is making a comeback. And now DC will have two new drive-in movie theaters this summer.

Events DC is partnering with Broccoli City to bring a drive-in theater to the RFK campus. They are planning to erect a 45-foot high LED screen in Lot 8 to show films for about three months. The lot will be able to host about 350 cars. Specific information regarding the opening date, prices and schedule are expected later this week.

Drive-in movies will also be shown at Union Market, which has hosted them in the past. The first movie will be "Captain America: The First Avenger" this Friday, July 3rd. Tickets are $20 per car and vendors will be serving food. Visit the Union Market website for more details and information.

Not far outside of the District, Tysons Corner Center is hosting drive-in movies starting on July 10th with a screening of "The Sandlot". Visit the Tysons Corner Center website for more details and information.
