As the quarantines and lockdowns seem to be settling in for the long haul, many companies are adapting to the times to stay profitable. A few companies have even seen a surge in popularity as many people stay home during the time they'd otherwise be at work or doing something outside.
For one, porn websites have seen a significant increase in traffic. And more traffic means more advertising money is coming in. Apparently one porn site is doing so well that they have some big money to shell out now and they'd like to hire the services of a well-known sportscaster who hasn't had much to do since basically every major sports league is currently shut down.
According to sports reporter Darren Rovell in a tweet, "A porn site says it will pay Joe Buck $1 million to announce its cam shows live. The site says it is also accepting applications from other national and local sports commentators."
Usually, things like this don't illicit a response. But Joe Buck himself addressed the news directly and his response will garner at least a chuckle.
"Depending on the site they could just be handing some of my money back to me. So I’ll hold out for a better offer and try to hold on to my day job. But I have to say I’m flattered."
Now, the prospect of having Joe Buck, Gary Thorne or Al Michaels doing live commentary on a person/persons getting busy is enticing, but we may never see it happen.
