Actor Brian Dennehy Dead at 81

According to TMZ, beloved actor Brian Dennehy has died at the age of 81.

Dennehy first rose to prominence in 1981, landing a recurring role in the television show Dynasty. The very next year, he scored a breakout role in the 1982 smash hit film First Blood alongside Sylvester Stallone.

His acting career has spanned across five decades, including roles in the movies Gorky Park, Cocoon, Tommy Boy, Romeo + Juliet, Assault on Precinct 13, and Ratatouille.

His television roles included appearances in the shows M*A*S*H, Dallas, Miami Vice, Just Shoot Me, The West Wing, Law and Order: SVU, 30 Rock, and The Blacklist.

Over his career, Dennehy was awarded a Golden Globe, and two Tony Awards.

He is survived by his wife and 5 children.
