Dude Arrested for Pretending to be Member of Wu-Tang Clan in Fraud Scheme

A Florida man has been arrested after he allegedly used multiple stolen credit cards and used them on luxury cars and hotel rentals while pretending that he was a member of the rap group Wu-Tang Clan.

WEAR-TV reports that 28-year-old Aaron Barnes-Burpo of Crestview, Florida and 51-year-old Walker Washington were arrested and charged with one count of Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud and Aggravated Identity Theft.

The Southern District of Georgia Court says Barnes-Burpo and Washington orchestrated a group of people who claim they were with the production company Roc Nation and the Wu-Tang Clan.

They allegedly used a number of stolen credit cards to rent luxury limousines and defrauded hotels for thousands of dollars.

One hotel reported suspicious activities to the authorities which reportedly unveiled the operation. The FBI would become involved to try and discover the full scope of illegal activities Barnes-Burpo and his associates committed.

The case is still being investigated by the FBI and Sheriff's Office.
