Chinese Media Tweets Video of Thermal Farts for Coronavirus Scanning Story

A state media news outlet in China tweeted out a bizarre message in regards to the spread of Coronavirus that also shows people "farting" on thermal cameras.

Global Times tweeted out the message which reads, "Can't help farting? Well, better try harder, because infrared temperature sensors recently installed in airports and train stations to monitor temperatures of passengers amid #coronavirus outbreak can screen them all"

Not only is it rather scary that this type of surveillance is going on, but the video seems to focus more on the fact that the government will know when you're farting. The catch here is the video showing people "farting" is fake video created by the YouTube channel BANANA FACTORY that was uploaded in 2016.

Even the Mythbusters apparently debunked the possibility of seeing a fart on a thermal imaging camera.

The tweet only adds to the confusion surrounding the media's narrative over the true threat and status of the deadly virus in China. According to the New York Times, more than 420 people have died from Coronavirus and over 20,000 people have been confirmed to have the virus.
