Senate Beer, known as "DC's hometown brew" for over 60 years, is coming back and will be available for the first time since 1956.
The beer is making a comeback thanks to a laboratory report from 1948 that contained specific details that allowed for the beer to be faithfully reproduced.
The Senate Beer revival will be featured at the Heurich Oktoberfest celebration at the Heurich House Museum near Dupont Circle in Washington, DC. The event is on September 21st from 1-4pm in the museum's Castle Garden.
Tom Shellhammer of the Oregon State Fermentation Science Department, who helped bring back Senate Beer based on the historical documents will be in attendance.
