Maryland's First Medical Marijuana Lounge Is Coming to Fells Point

Maryland's first medical marijuana lounge is planning to open later in 2019. The yet-unnamed lounge will take over the former location of Sir Duke at 701 S. Bond Street in Fells Point in Baltimore.

The lounge, which allows for the legal consumption of medical marijuana and marijuana products on its premises, is awaiting is a final approval from the Baltimore City Board of Municipal and Zoning Appeals. The owners of the medical marijuana lounge are the couple who own Sound Garden, the popular record store which is located a couple blocks south of the pending location.

To be able to enter the lounge, one must possess a valid medical marijuana card. They can also become a member by paying a monthly fee which grants them access to medical marijuana education seminars, cooking classes and yoga. The membership also allows for the consumption of medical marijuana at the lounge.

The lounge will occupy the second floor of 701 S. Bond St. A new restaurant called Bird on a Wire is set to open on the first floor.
