Washington Nationals Will Rock Montreal Expos Uniforms on July 6

For the first time since becoming the Washington Nationals, the team is going to recognize their roots as the Montreal Expos on July 6th when they don the former team's powder blue uniforms and tri-colored hats.

The Nats host the Kansas City Royals for that Saturday game and will honor the franchise's 50th anniversary after the Expos became an expansion team in 1969. The throwback uniforms will be similar to the ones the team wore on away games. The Royals themselves will wear throwback outfits. They were also an expansion team in '69.

In addition to the team wearing Expos jerseys and hats, the Nats will change up their music playlist to feature songs that were popular in the late 60s, the team's graphics on scoreboards will be replaced with the Expos' curly M logo, and special food offerings will be available including poutine and Montreal smoked beef brisket.

July 6th will mark the first time the Nationals have worn Expos outfits. Previously, the team has worn Washington Senators and Homestead Grays uniforms.
