Florida Man Threatens to Destroy Town With His "Army of Turtles"

61-year old Thomas Lane was arrested in Indialantic, Florida on Sunday after he reportedly was disturbing the peace at multiple businesses. Police received multiple calls about Lane, who allegedly screamed obscenities towards customers at several businesses including Sassy Granny's Smoothies, Cafe Surfinista and a Starbucks on Wave Crest Avenue Boardwalk.

Police arrived to the area to locate Lane, and when they found him, Lane allegedly told the officers that his "turtle army will destroy everyone" if he was going to be arrested. He was taken to the Indialantic Police Department and banged on the glass and walls, and somehow escaped before a booking officer was able to speak to him.

Shortly later, cops found Lane in his car in a 7-Eleven parking lot, continuing to harass customers from his vehicle. Upon his second apprehension by police, Lane allegedly told officers they "needed to leave now or you will all be sorry you [expletive] with 'The Saint.'" While officers were arresting Lane, he reiterated to them that his turtle army would inflict violence on them.

Lane was charged with disturbing the peace, resisting arrest without violence and misusing 911. He was released on bail.
