BW Parkway to Be Partially Closed for Emergency Repair Work This Weekend

After an overwhelming amount of complaints regarding the terrible, dangerous condition of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, the National Park Service, which oversees the road, will begin repairing potholes beginning this weekend.

The NPS says it is tapping into "emergency contracting funds" to begin repairing potholes this weekend. A full re-surfacing of the road that was originally scheduled to take place until the fall will now begin in April.

Senator Chris Van Hollen says the amount of driver complaints helped the decision to move along. Many recent accidents that could be blamed on the massive potholes surely played a part in the decision as well.

Southbound lanes on MD-295 between MD-198 and MD-197 will be partially closed from Friday around 7:30pm to Saturday at 5:00am. Northbound lanes in the same stretch of road will be partially closed from about 7:30pm Saturday to 5:00am on Sunday.
