[UPDATE 3/26/19] Because of the warmth of the weather we've been experiencing in the DC area, the National Park Service has moved up the date for "Peak Bloom". The peak is now expected to hit Monday, April 1. Some of the blooms are already coming out.
The National Park Service has issued it's 'first-call' forecast for the peak bloom period of the cherry blossom trees around the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC.
This year, the Park Service is expecting peak bloom, which means 70% or more are blooming at once, to happen between April 3-6, 2019.
These dates perfectly coincide with the National Cherry Blossom Festival which is scheduled this year to occur from March 20 through April 14, 2019 with dozens of events planned around the Nation's Capital including a concert called "Blossom Bash" with Meghan Trainor, Max and Jake Miller presented by iHeartRadio at The Anthem at The Wharf area of the District.
