New Tool Album Will Be Out "Mid-May to Mid-July" Says Maynard James Keenan

Maynard James Keenan tweeted out that the new Tool album could finally see the light of day this year.

He says that the album is "midway through mixing" and there are still a lot of steps before the album will be finished but that his best guess is, "release date somewhere between Mid May and Mid July."

While other band members have been more forthcoming about the album finally coming together, Maynard seemed to shoot down the rumors. Earlier this week, drummer Danny Carey hinted the new album would be released in April, and Maynard quickly said that was false .

The new Tool album is entering Chinese Democracy levels of gappage between studio albums. The band's most recent record 10,000 Days was released on May 2, 2006.
