Maynard James Keenan Provides Huge Update on New TOOL Record

Maynard James Keenan tweeted out an update on his plans for 2019 and it is sure to excite fans of his bands. While he revealed he is recording new music with his band Puscifer that is due out in 2020, the bigger news is that the vocal tracks for the new Tool album are done and have been for some time.

Last year, Maynard seemed to express his frustrations over how long it was taking Tool to record a new record. He goes on to say he had written lyrics and melodies for songs but couldn't do his part with recording the actual vocals until the instruments and song arrangements had been laid down.

In the tweet, Maynard says the "final vocals [were] tracked MONTHS ago." He says the album has now entered the mixing phase, meaning the new record could finally be on the horizon.
