Travis Barker and Goldfinger Release Christmas EP

Last month, Travis Barker let fans know he was working on Christmas music in his Instagram story. Though he didn't give much information, he tagged John Feldmann — who produced blink-182's latest album, California. Feldmann also shared a post, in which he tagged both the drummer and pop punkers. Given this information, we thought blink was for sure working on holiday music. But we were wrong.

Aside from being a renowned producer, Feldmann also fronts Goldfinger. Last week, the ska legends released The Goldfinger Christmas EP and guess who helped out?

Barker's drumming style is apparent from the project's first notes. The four-song collection comprises punk renditions of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" that clock in at under two minutes; a frenetic cover of "12 Days of Christmas" and a laid back ska version of "White Christmas."

"Sometimes I record Christmas music with my friends," Barker tweeted on Friday (December 14) along with a link to music.

Because the holidays are a time to give back, the band released the whole project on YouTube. Listen to The Goldfinger Christmas EP below.

Last week, the famed percussionist and tattoo aficionado announced the lineup for his 12th annual Musink festival in Orange County, California. Though most of the bands have already been revealed, there are a few mystery "special guests." Could Goldfinger be one of them?
