Arlington Memorial Bridge Will Be Closed for Entire Weekend Next Month

The Arlington Memorial Bridge connecting Virginia and the heart of DC will be shut down for a full weekend in September for important repair work. The repair work to the bridge is part of a project that is scheduled to be completed in 2021.

From Friday, September 14th at 7pm until Monday, September 17th, the bridge will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic as crews work on repairs around-the-clock.

After the bridge is reopened to traffic on the 17th, traffic will be reduced from six lanes to three.

More temporary complete shut downs of the bridge will need to happen later to complete the repair project, but no other dates have been announced.
