Pearl Jam isn't the first rock band to get involved in the alcoholic beverage game. And if their concert ticket sales are any indication, a Pearl Jam wine would undoubtedly be tough to get your hands on.
That ended up being the case when the band announced they would be selling 450 boxes of Pearl Jam red wine to their email newsletter subscribers. All 450 boxes sold out in about 12 minutes.
Each box cost $150 and included four bottles of wine, one dedicated to each of the four cities Pearl Jam is playing for their Home X Away tour. All of the proceeds from the boxes of wine benefit the band's foundation Vitalogy Foundation which "supports the efforts on non-profit organizations doing commendable work in the fields of community health, the environment, arts & education and social change."
Luckily, if you're interested in tasting the Pearl Jam wine but missed out on the box set, the wine is just a relabeled bottle of Underground Wine Project Idle Hands Red.
