Although it seems to be a bit or hearsay, a Red Hot Chili Peppers fan allegedly had a chance to Facetime with former guitarist John Frusciante. Naturally he asked John if he would ever consider rejoining the band, to which he replied,
He said that destiny made him fall in love with other things that made him distance himself from a Rock Band, but in the end he completed that one day he might come back, he just thinks it's still far from happening but it's a possibility for one day maybe.
Although the band has had nothing but praise for current guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, who joined the Peppers in 2009, Anthony Kiedis admitted in 2016 that he misses Frusciante. Although RHCP has recorded with five different guitar players, their most commercially successful records by far are those featuring Frusciante's songwriting.
