The roof of Merriweather Post Pavilion collapsed on Saturday morning. According to a statement released on Merriweather's Twitter page, the roof had been under renovations and was temporarily held in place by hydraulic lifts. It was nearing the final preparations to secure it in place when the entire roof came down possibly due to high winds.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the collapse and the venue says the roof will be rebuilt in time for the 2018 concert season. Read the full statement below:
