Chris Cornell's final music video featuring the late singer/songwriter has been released for his song "The Promise."
The song was Cornell's final solo release and was written for the 2016 film called The Promise.
Speaking with Rolling Stone in March, Cornell had this to say about the song:
I wasn't trying to record a song that sounded like it was from 1915, but I didn't want there to be obvious modern references because obviously at the time there was no such thing as the Beatles or Metallica or everything that is my reference for musical ideas. So the orchestra works just because that did exist and it can be a little bit out of time, so I was swimming in those waters of ambiguity.
The music video shows Chris performing the song in a studio interspersed with footage of the ongoing refugee crisis in Europe and the Middle East along with the fighting in Syria.
Cornell performed the song on Jimmy Fallon in April. He committed suicide on May 18th.
