After My Chemical Romance dissolved in 2013, frontman Gerard Way has since released a solo album and has pursued his passion of comic books.

In fact, Way worked at Cartoon Network before starting My Chemical Romance in 2001 and has worked on The Umbrella Academy and The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. It was always his goal to return to writing for comics and stated he would focus solely on comics for a few years after the release of his solo record, Hesitant Alien, in 2014.

Way recently told Billboard that he was preparing to work on a second solo album. "I'm just about to seriously figure out my schedule in terms of how many weeks I'm writing comics and how many weeks I'm writing music. There's a plan to put something out; I don't know when that'll come but the process is starting," he says.

When asked about the future of My Chemical Romance, Way responds, " I wouldn't count (a reunion) out, but at the same time everybody's doing stuff in their lives now that they're really enjoying. In some ways I don't really miss it; it had gotten so big it was very unwieldy. It took a toll on my mental life and personal life."
