Just over a week ago, Korn announced on their Facebook page that longtime bassist Fieldy would have to miss the band's tour dates in South America due to "unforeseen circumstances."
Korn announced Fieldy's replacement would be an unusual choice, a 12-year old Tye Trujillo, son of current Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo.
The band said, "We are bummed Fieldy can't join us on this run but excited to do a few gigs with a young player like Tye."
Judging from footage of Tye's first show with Korn in Bogota, Colombia, he seems to fit in just fine.
The band played a 17-song set, featuring all of the classic Korn hits as well as covers of Queen's "We Will Rock You and a cover of Metallica's "One" for good measure.
Korn will play four more shows with Tye before Fieldy rejoins the band in the US in May. They play Sao Paulo, Curitiba, and Porto Alegre in Brazil before heading to Argentina, Chile and Peru.
