A suspected shoplifter at a Lowe's home improvement store in Kingston, Massachusetts nearly ran over a plainclothes police officer fleeing the store.
The unnamed officer claims he saw someone committing a felony larceny and tried to detain him, who then turned violent against him.
According to police, the suspect drew a weapon on the officer, who in turn drew their gun against him.
A video uploaded to social media shows the officer attempting to pull the suspect out of an SUV who then backs out of a parking spot, nearly running over the officer.
The officer, who was on duty, was not injured.
