Victim Turns Tables on Armed Robbers

A Los Angeles man turned the tables on a pair of armed robbers, sending them hobbling away with bullet wounds to their legs.

The confrontation occurred Monday on Melrose Avenue, where two men – one of them armed -- got out of a Dodge Avenger and approached the victim and two women he was talking to, according to the LAPD. "Words were apparently exchanged, and the victim ultimately produces a handgun, apparently to defend himself and others in his group from the would-be robbery suspects,” reads a statement from the police department. “The victim fired his weapon towards the suspects and then all parties immediately fled the location.”

But they didn't get far. Shortly afterward, police arrested 22-year-old Nicholas Brown and 28-year-old Markeil Hayes in connection with the botched robbery, the LAPD reports. Brown was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper left thigh, while Hayes was sporting a bullet wound to his right calf, police say. Detectives are searching for a possible third suspect, who they say might have been driving the vehicle.

Does it make you feel safe to know that anyone could be carrying a concealed weapon? Or does it make you feel less safe?
