A group of visual effects artists who work for a studio started by South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have taken the "deep fake" effect to a whole new level and the results are amazing, yet unsettling.
A TikTok account called deeptomcruise was made to show off their results. As you would imagine, fake videos of Tom Cruise were made, replicating his likeness to a yet-unseen amount of detail. If you've seen previous deepfakes before, there's something that just doesn't seem right about the faces, but the deeptomcruise videos seem nearly flawless.
Just watching, it might fool you into thinking it's actually Tom Cruise, but obviously his voice is just an impressionist.
