The former deputy mayor of London is calling for the British House of Lords to set a 6 p.m. curfew for all U.K. men.
In an address to U.K. lawmakers, Baroness Jones said setting the male-only curfew would "make women a lot safer, and discrimination of all kinds would be lessened."
According to Jones, it isn't fair that women are told to stay inside at night to remain safe. "When the police advise women, don't go out at night on their own, women ask why do they have to be subjected to an informal curfew?" Jones said. "It is not women who are the problem here, it is men -- and the criminal justice system fails women and lets men off the hook."
Does Jones have a point? What would happen if a curfew like this was imposed in the U.S.?
