Congressional Women's Softball Game in Support of Young Survival Coalition

CANCER DOESN’T STOP FOR COVID-19

The novel coronavirus has had a crippling effect on the Young Survival Coalition. Nonprofits are small businesses and without support from the community and public in the form of donations, we will not be able to continue our work. The Young Survival Coalition:

  • Educates and empowers young adults affected by breast cancer from diagnosis and treatment to long-term survivorship.
  • Provides local in-person networking groups, digital meetups and communities, and one-on-one support with trained peer mentors.
  • Works with healthcare providers, researchers and legislators to educate them about the unique issues young cancer patients face.
  • Advocates for more studies on breast cancer in young adults, diverse representation in research and access to quality care.

13,000 adults under age 40 are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. With your help, this vital organization can keep its doors open to them.

Your Gift Provides:

  • Educational resources through free comprehensive guides and webinars focused on the needs of survivors where they are now.
  • Mental health support during a global pandemic that include experiences of depression, anxiety and PTSD.
  • Critical support of other young survivors and caregivers through Virtual Hangouts and Private Facebook Groups just for them.
  • Resources to help young survivors manage a new challenging financial reality.

The Congressional Women’s Softball Game began in 2009 by a bi-partisan group of female legislators. In 2010, the Members asked the women of the Washington, D.C. press corps to join the game as the opponent and a lasting rival was born. The Congressional Women’s Softball Game has raised more than $1.6M for Young Survival Coalition (YSC) since the Game began in 2009 and has become a staple of Capitol Hill summer activities.
