Swiss Brothels Allowed to Reopen But With Restrictions on "Safe" Positions

As Switzerland exits the COVID-19 lockdown, the country is preparing to allow sex brothels to reopen on June 6th. The Swiss health ministry added "erotic business" to the list of activities that could resume yesterday.

But things at brothels will not resume 100% normal operations, but under a list of criteria that will need to be met to keep employees and customers safe... or as safe as they see fit.

A sex workers group came up with a list of rules, including increased record-keeping of customer information, sanitization procedures, and types of conduct that will be allowed.

The types of conduct deemed "safe" include doggy-style and reverse cowgirl. "Anal practices" will be allowed but will require the use of gloves. Threesomes will not be allowed to return yet. "There will be no services with close facial contact. There must be a distance of at least one forearm length between the two people."

Other things included are for masks to be worn at all times possible, and bed sheets to washed at 140℉ after every client with each room being aired out for at least 15 minutes.

Prostitution has been legal in Switzerland since 1942.
