A Charles County man was arrested after violating Maryland Governor Larry Hogan's order banning gatherings of more than 10 people.
41-year-old Shawn Myers of Hughesville hosted a gathering or 60 people on Friday night for a bonfire according to the Charles County Sheriff's Office.
Myers was reportedly told multiple times by police to disperse the gathering, to which he refused multiple times. He was then arrested. According to police, this was the second time they had received a report about Myers holding a large gathering after Hogan's ban went into effect. The first incident occurred on March 22nd, 5 days prior to his arrest.
This incident is reportedly the first arrest made in regards to Hogan's order to keep gatherings of people to a limit of no greater than 10 people.
