“It is with heavy hearts we announce that our beloved son, father and friend, John Daniel Singleton will be taken off of life support today,” a spokesperson for the family said in a statement to Deadline.
Singleton was battling complications from a stroke he suffered earlier this month and had been placed on life support.
Singleton is know for directing such breakthrough movies such as Boyz N The Hood, Poetic Justice, plus an episode of FOX's Empire.
