Senator John McCain has just passed away.
We just lost an amazing American, Naval Academy graduate, pilot, war hero prisoner of war, US Senator, and solid human being. He was a lion of the GOP, going his own way and gaining the nickname "Maverick" for his style and manner. He held his post in the face of withering forces abroad, and in the end, in Washington.
We are less without him - we are at a loss without his voice, his sense, his measure in our government and nation. Smooth sails and following seas, sir.
