Mike Myers has been promoting his new film Supermensch and was talking with Mark Maron on his WTF Podcast. He did the usual discussions about the film and other roles, but then this came up.

Wayne's World was almost put on the shelf because of the "Bohemian Rhapsody" scene. Apparently the producers wanted them to sing something from Guns n Roses instead of the Queen song, but that wasn't happening for Myers. "I fought really, really hard for it. At one point I said to everybody, 'Well, I'm out, I don't want to make this movie if it's not 'Bohemian Rhapsody.'"

Can you imagine Wayne's World without that scene?! Whenever you're driving somewhere and it comes on the radio you and everyone else in the car has to sing along just like Wayne and Garth and the boys did! I'm glad Mike Myers stood his ground on it. It couldn't have been any other way!
