No Toilet Paper At The Reading Festival?!

Posted August 1st, 2014 @ 11:05am

I can't believe this is happening. Well, isn't happening.

The organizers of the Reading Festival have decided this year that they won't be providing toilet paper to the 70,000+ attendees at the end of this month. They say it harms the environment and most of it gets wasted anyway.

There will be people on site though selling toilet paper, and the fans will be allowed to bring their own onto the grounds.

Let's think about this forĀ a minute. 70,000 people are going. How many are going to hear the announcement about the toilet paper? Probably 45-50,000 of them. So where does that leave the other 20 or so thousand attendees? "Oh, excuse me guvna, can I steal a square or two?"

Also, would you want to stand in a line and buy it while some of your favorite bands are playing? And how much will each roll cost? I'm guessing it's sandpaper quality, at best, and it'll cost you at least 5 bucks. Probably more because magically prices quadruple on everything if there is a stage nearby.

This has the potential to be a complete disaster. The show isn't until the weekend of the 22nd-24th so there is plenty of time to make sure ample toilet paper is available. I can't wait to see the videos, photos and anger on social media about this.

(On a side note, there is a way when you're at a show to choose a decent toilet. Really! Click over to watch how you can protect yourself when bathroom time needs to happen.)
