Chad Channing isn't a name you'd know off the top of your head but you've definitely heard his work, as he was Nirvana's drummer before Dave Grohl. He worked on Bleach and also did the drums for "Polly" on Nevermind.
That apparently isn't enough for him to be included in their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction next month though. Chad thought he was going in with the band, he told everyone that he would be in Brooklyn on April 10th and ready to be included. But, that's not the case.
He told Radio.com that everything was set, Nirvana's manager Michael Meisel said he'd be there, Krist Novoselic thought he should be inducted, everything was looking good. Then he got the word from Meisel, saying he wasn't going to be a part of things.
The Hall of Fame sent word to Meisel via a text message that said, "Can you tell whoever looks after Chad Channing that he isn't being inducted. It is just Dave, Krist and Kurt."
Wow. You expect to be a part of something, you want to be included in what should be the biggest night of your life, and you are pushed out through a TEXT MESSAGE?! Between this and the friction the Hall of Fame has caused with everyone in KISS this year, I expect the speeches on April 10th will not put the Hall in a very good light.
