Good to hear that after leaving The Pixies, Kim Deal is still keeping herself busy. She's announced that The Breeders are doing a new album. This will be the first since their 2009 EP Fate to Fatal.

She told Stereogum about the music, saying, "Today we're working on Josephine's song and it's sounding really good. I've got a good melody line for it and got some lyrics. So that's what we're going to be recording today, one of her songs. Then I've got two that have some lyrics and a melody line but I don't like the drum part on one of them. The other one sounds pretty cool. We'll probably get those three going. And I have other songs."

Sounds like there will be much more than an EP's worth of music coming for this next effort. The recording has been happening in Brooklyn, and this current lineup for The Breeders is Kim Deal, Kelley Deal, Josephine Wiggs and Jim Macpherson.

If you didn't get to hear any of the music from Fate to Fatal, watch the video for the title track.

I'm excited for what's to come next from The Breeders!
