First off...thank you! By all accounts Kerfuffle was a fantastic success mainly because of how chill so many of you were.
The other reason...the music! You may have not been totally familiar with all of the bands but based on the conversations I had with many of you and your responses on Twitter/Facebook and other social media, you dug the bands. Personally, I was very much looking forward to seeing Brick and Mortar (who could have easily blown the roof off of Merriweather) and SOJA but that does not mean that I did not enjoy the other bands. Semi Precious Weapson and Kongos really impressed me as did Foals and a super energetic set by J Roddy Walston and the Business. WOW!!!
Then there was Cage the Elephant. I made certain to be near the stage while they were on and they did not disappoint. It was a full on hit parade and then "IT" happened. What do you mean Khan? Matt Schultz from Cage the Elephant turned what was meant to be an innocent stage dive and turned that into surfing up the entire pavilion and up into the lawn and give everyone up there some love. There is a picture below.
SOJA...wow! I saw them play in a backyard once in Virginia and on May 3rd got to see them at Merriweather. They were fantastic and brought with them a whole bunch of energy, a chill vibe and good times that was "high"ly appreciated by many.
311. That is all I have to say about that.
Here is the picture that I was talking about of Matt from Cage the Elephant in the lawn.
Yeah...that totally happened!
Thank you for coming out in an awesome way and having a good time! Until next time!
