The instant it was announced, I knew that I wanted to go. Heck I wanted to go last year but 2014 was the year that...

Awesome Khan went to AwesomeCon!!!

And let me tell you, I was not disappointed! There was so much to do, see and experience that by the end of the day, I was on some serious sensory overload. But man, what a day it was. I was accompanied by DC101's Mike Jones and Ryan Zimmerman. No, not that one! He is a buddy of mine with the same name.

I got to meet some really cool artists and authors who are behind some of my favorite comics (i.e. The Punisher, Archie) and caught a glimpse of some really awesome actors who I have been a fan of for years. Nicholas Brendan (Xander from Buffy) and Ernie Hudson. You may know Ernie from Miss Congeniality and something to do with ghosts and busting apparently. One of the artists in attendance was Billie Martin, former guitarist from Good Charlotte!

There was so much to purchase and experience at AwesomeCon as well. All of the comic retailers in the area (my buds from the Laughing Ogre in Fairfax were there to say what up) as well as other retailers. I won't lie; I spent a decent amount of cash on Saturday. The most important thing I got: an autographed photo from the Karate Kid signed by both Ralph Macchio and William Zabka (Daniel-San and Johnny Lawrence). That will definitely be going up in my office at my full-time job.

But if I had to pinpoint what the real attraction of AwesomeCon was...YOU! So many of you came out to not only experience AwesomeCon but to be a part of the experience for others. Dressed up as your favorite characters from comics and movies, it was a true joy to spend the day with you all. But as you will notice from the three pictures below...I had the slightest bit of "shield envy."

OH...and I met Smurfette!!!

This Captain America was a big dude!

This Captain America was hot!

This Captain America was the toughest!

Smurfette was at AwesomeCon as well!!!

Thanks again to the team for putting on one hell of a show!
Be on the lookout for AwesomeCon next year in May 2015!
