The DMV could be in for "the coldest winter in years" according to their forecast for the 2021-2022 winter weather forecast.

"This coming winter could well be one of the longest and coldest that we've seen in years," says Janice Stillman, editor of The Old Farmer's Almanac.

The Almanac claims that they have predicted the past 230 years' winters with an "80 percent-accurate" forecast.

As for snowfall, that can be much more difficult to forecast so far out, but the Almanac is predicting a "cold, snowy" winter for what appears to be the northern parts of Maryland through southeast Pennsylvania and coastal New England, while the rest of the DMV is predicted to have a "cold, dry" winter.
