Mastodon's long-awaited new album finally has a name.
In an interview with Paste, the band says their follow-up to 2011's The Hunter will be called Once More Round the Sun, and is on track to hit stores later this year.
The heavy metal act recorded the album late last year in Tennessee. Bassist and vocalist Troy Sanders says he's had a lot of time to "ingest" the new music, and proudly calls it a solid "slab of granite."
But it turns out Mastodon could have made Once More Round the Sun even bigger. They had an extra 30 minutes of music that didn't fit on the final album, which they plan to put out sometime soon as a bonus EP.
