Elaborately-costumed metal band GWAR is looking to get into the restaurant business.
The group has started a crowd-funding campaign on IndieGoGo.com to raise money for a GWARbar. They say the unique restaurant in GWAR's hometown of Richmond, Virginia will feature a beer GWARden, plenty of GWAR-B-Q sauce, and a menu of "gourmet junk food" created by GWAR guitarist Michael Derks.
Fans can help make the restaurant a reality by donating at IndieGoGo now until June 21st. Some of the incentives for those who give to the cause include a GWARbar t-shirt, an invite to a pre-opening night event, a cooking class with Chef Derks, or your name on one of the barstools.
In the meantime, GWAR's annual music and food festival known as the GWAR-B-Q is scheduled to take place August 16th in Richmond. The day before the band plans to hold a public memorial for frontman Dave Brockie, who died earlier this year.
