Listen to Megadeth on iHeartRadio

Dave Mustaine says he's cooking up something good for the next Megadeth album.

The metal vets just put out their latest studio effort, Super Collider, in June, but the frontman sent out a tweet Monday explaining that he's already started working on new lyrics.

Mustaine says he's been studying a lot of world history and "crazy science" stuff in preparation for the new album, adding that "this world is so fascinating."  Earlier this year, Mustaine said he's always found science interesting, which is part of the reason he decided to use an image of the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland on the cover of Super Collider.

While Megadeth's next album probably won't be hitting stores anytime soon, the band is set to hit the road next month.  They'll kick off a North American trek on September 3rd in Raleigh, North Carolina.
