On Monday, a French photographer claimed that the Washington Post would break the news that President Barack Obama and Beyonce are having an affair.

The Washington Post is not breaking the news.

Pascal Rostain's comments appeared in the French newspaper Le Figaro.  Apparently, that's a real French newspaper.  He said:

“You know, at this time, in the United States, there is something big that is happening. I’ll go out tomorrow in the Washington Post — we can say that it is not the gutter press — an alleged affair between President Barack Obama and Beyoncé.”

The French president, Francois Hollande, is currently in the middle of a frenzy regarding his affair with French actress Julie Gayet. Rostain is comparing that story with the rumor regarding Obama and Beyonce.  He thinks that the President and First Lady Michelle Obama are growing distant.
That's Julie in the two photos below.

The Washington Post denied that the claim.  A spokesperson told the Poynter Institute that the claim was "definitely not true."  Rostain claimed the story would run in Tuesday's paper.  It didn't.
Now, the photographer is backpeddaling.  He does think that the "atmosphere is pretty frigid between Barack and Michelle."
