Smashing Pumpkins will release two albums in 2015.  The band made the announcement on their website Tuesday.

The albums will be called Monuments to an Elegy and Day for Night.

Billy Corgan wrote about the sound of the albums, "think: 'guitars, guitars, guitars, and more guitars;' but more so on the epic side of things than say, grossly metallic."

Corgan wrote that recording started on Tuesday.  The band is working with producer Howard Willing who worked on the band's 1998 Adore album.

Expect a new single by the end of the year.
