Over the weekend, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith joked that the band was going to play a cover of Led Zeppelin's Dazed and Confused at the Super Bowl halftime.

We told you that it was a joke.  But, everybody didn't get it.

Speaking to Fox Sports' Steve Gorman, Smith admitted that it was a joke.  He said, "They didn't go for that...I think that would be good, a little improvisation."

Smith says that the producers of the halftime show have everything pretty precise.

The drummer also said that Led Zeppelin is his favorite band and their drummer, John Bonham, is his favorite drummer.
