Pearl Jam just released their 10th studio album, Lightning Bolt.  The Seattle band first gained acclaim after the 1991 release of their debut album, Ten.  Since then, the band has outlasted many of their contemporaries and remains one of the biggest bands in the world.

Grantland writer Steven Hyden recently asked if Pearl Jam is overrated, underrated, or properly rated.

Hyden's question is an interesting one.  He breaks down each studio album, the rest of their catalog, their live show, the battle with Ticketmaster, and much more.  He even gives a take on bassist Jeff Ament's hats.
