Wednesday, a website called RHCP2014 popped up.
The website looked very legitimate. It featured the Red Hot Chili Peppers' official logo, information on the Super Bowl halftime, a Dodge sponsorship, the iHeartRadio logo, and audio of a "new single."
The song is called Abracadabralifornia.
It's all fake. But, almost believable. It kind of songs like a Red Hot Chili Peppers song. But, it does make for a pretty good parody of one. The website looks very real.
The whole thing was done by comedian Jon Daly, according to the AV Club. Daly has worked for shows like Comedy Bang Bang and Kroll Show.
Drummer Chad Smith noticed that somebody tweeted that the song was real. He found that to be funny.
“Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!@johnmoe: From what I understand, this new Red Hot Chili Peppers song is 100% real: http://t.co/pvUrkiTSA1”— Chad Smith (@RHCPchad) January 30, 2014
